Everyone knows that Aloe Vera is great at soothing skin, but what else is it good at?

With a long list of benefits, and well known for its health and beauty aficionados. The jelly like substance found inside the aloe vera cactus is laden with an impressive list of nutrients, including 20 minerals, 12 vitamins, 18 amino acids, and 200 active plant compounds.

A rich antioxidant, can be said to boost the immune system, soothes burns and aid digestion.

Applied topically, the Aloe Vera plant is 99.5 % water which means its hydrating, soothing and cooling. The reason behind it being in after sun products.

A powerful anti- inflammatory and can treat skin conditions, such as eczema, acne, dry skin, and frostbite. Furthermore it makes a great effective make- up remover.

Drinking Aloe Vera-

With a slightly bitter taste, its not the most pleasant tasting plant. However blended in a smoothie, coconut milk , or green vegetables.

Tip- when using aloe vera leaves, allow them to drain before cutting out the gel- like substance Stand the leaf in a glass up side down. A yellow substance should leak out after a while. This is a latex found just beneath the skin of the leaf, which gives it, it’s bitter taste. It is also a common ingredient found in laxatives.
